Why Editors Are Switching

Editing hasn't changed in 20 years. We’re still clicking through endless menus. Terminal fixes that.

Stop Clicking Menus

Stop clicking through endless menus to find your effects. Just type what you want, hit Enter, and it's done.

Stay in Flow

Every time you look away to find a menu, you lose focus. Terminal keeps your eyes on the edit and your hands on the keyboard.

Complex Tasks, Simplified

Apply a preset, change speed, and add a transition in one command chain. What used to take 10 clicks now takes 2 seconds.

Why I Built Terminal

Hey, I’m Jakob.

I’ve spent years inside Premiere Pro and After Effects. The deeper I got, the more I realized something: most of editing is hunting through menus instead of creating.

Changing effects, adjusting properties, adding transitions, moving clips… it was all the same repetitive clicking. Slows you down. Breaks your flow.

So I built Terminal. A command bar that lets you type what you want and have the app execute it instantly.

Once you get used to it, it’s hard to imagine editing without it.

It Knows What You Mean

Terminal uses Smart Matching to translate your human words into precise editing actions.

Fuzzy Matching

You don't need to memorize exact effect names. Type "fast blur" and Terminal knows you mean Fast Box Blur. It just works.

Context Aware

It knows which app you're in. If you type "Nest" in Premiere, it nests. In After Effects, it interprets that as "Precompose".

Instant Setup

Type "wiggle 5 10". Terminal automatically applies the effect with your exact settings, so you don't have to touch a single slider.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Terminal replace my editing workflow?
No, it enhances it. You still edit the same way, just without wasting time searching menus or dragging sliders.
Does it work in both Premiere Pro and After Effects?
Yes. Terminal detects which app you're in and adapts commands automatically.
Do I need to memorize commands?
No. You type what you mean. Terminal suggests commands and auto-completes in real time.
Can I set my own keyboard shortcut?
Yes, you can open Terminal with any shortcut you choose.
Will this slow down my machine?
No. Terminal is lightweight and runs directly inside Adobe, no cloud processing or external apps.
Is there a learning curve?
About 5 minutes. Once you get used to it, it’s hard to go back to menus and sliders.
